GILT DATE CODE FOR 1909, PATTERN NO. 2416, INCISED SIGNATURE G.OWEN
By George Owen, of bombé form with ivory and pale-celadon-ground, the cover and knop finial pierced with a circular design enriched with gilt 'jewels' within pale-blue beeds, moulded in relief with acanthus issuing trailing leaves and shell designs, the front and back of the box pierced with an oval honeycomb pattern with similar gilt 'jewelling' and beading flanked by pierced white and gilt acanthus scroll, the sides similarly pierced and moulded, on four richly-gilt bun feet
