The Romance of the West Chamber
4°album containing 12 watercolours (300 x 250mm.) on Chinese paper laid down onto album leaves (scattered light spotting, worming at gutter affecting inner margins of leaves but not images). Late 18th century crushed red morocco gilt, boards with triple gilt fillet borders, gilt acorn cornerpieces, roll-tooled gilt turn-ins, spine gilt in compartments, gilt morocco lettering-pieces in two compartments, the other decorated with foliate and star tools, 'Dutch' floral endpapers printed in gold and colours, gilt edges (boards slightly rubbed and marked, extremities a little rubbed and bumped).
