A kozuka and kogai of copper with applied gold leaf and shakudo plates depicting armed men assaulting a castle across a river, all in fine high relief inlay and iroe takazogan, 19th century, 9.7cm. and 21.2cm.; a shakudo kozuka with umbrella and Noh mask inlaid in gold, shakudo, and silver high relief application and inlay, with signature Nagatsune, 19th century, 9.7cm.; silver kozuka with a nanakoji plate with butterflies in high relief with gold, shakudo, shibuichi, shibuichi and silver high relief inlay, signed Morimura Atsutaka, 19th century, 9.7cm.; silver kozuka with the twelve creatures of the Zodiac in gold suemon zogan, 19th century, 9.9cm; a set of copper fuchi-kashira and kozuka with octopus in high relief on a nanako ground, signed Fujita Katsutada, 19th century, 9.5cm. and 4cm. Lot Essay

The second kozuka: the artist was a pupil of Goto Mitsuyoshi in Edo in the mid 19th century. Accompanied by a Hozon Tosogu [Sword Fitting Worthy of Preserving] certificate no.441904, issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword] on 18 February 2002.
