Edo Period (18th Century)
The black lacquered iron mask well formed with embossed wrinkles and eyebrows, the brow plate attached by hinges, the nose not detachable, odayori-no-kan [cord assisting rings] on the cheeks, beneath the chin odayori-no-kugi [cord assisting nails] and a white haired moustache, the interior red lacquered with its gold brocade hood, two lame black lacquered itamono yodarekake [sold plate throat defence] laced in dark blue sugake odoshi [spaced lacing]
