Signed Noshu ju Kaneie and dated on the ura Tensho jushichinen [1589] hachi gatsu hi Sugata [configuration]: hirazukuri, sakizori with a degree of fumbari, the mune lowers towards the kissaki, possibly due to later re-shaping of the blade Kitae [forging pattern]: fine and close itame with a flowing component and shirake utsuri Hamon [tempering pattern]: tight gunome hamon of nioi with ko-nie Boshi [tip]: komaru with a long return Nakago [tang]: ha-agari kurijiri, two holes, osujigai file marks Koshirae [set of mounts]: brown and black lacquer carved in simulation of wood grain, kozuka, kogai and fuchi-kashira of plain russet iron, the menuki of fruit in shakudo with gold details Habaki [collar]: single, gold-clad Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 26.2cm.
