A pattern for a related standard grate with paired and urn-capped Doric pillars featured in the London stove grate maker William Glossop's, Treasury of designs issued as The Stove-Grate Makers Assistant, 1771, pl.8 (C.Gilbert and A.Wells-Cole The Fashionable Fire Place, Leeds, 1985, fig 39).
