Lot Essay

J.Dussel was a brass-founder active in 's-Hertogenbosch, there is not a great deal known about him, he is mentioned in the archives of the Dutch reformed church in's-Hertogenbosch, where he supplied a bill for brass-works, including a new chandelier, carried out in 1822 - again it is possible that the present chandelier, dated 1821, was originally supplied to the Dutch reformed church.
The inscription MES. GEEL G is an abbreviation of MEESTER GEELGIETER (master brassfounder)
