The hollow figures probably made as censers, the two long-eared hounds shown in a recumbent position with head turned to the side and mouth open exposing the pink-enamelled tongue, the turquoise and light blue coat inlaid with very fine gilt wire hair markings, each with an aperture in the flat gilt-copper base and another behind the tongue
