The quadrangular tapering body decorated with four panels of butterflies fluttering amongst blossoming flowers springing from rockwork, with similar decoration on the neck and shoulder, the base unglazed, with apocryphal Chenghua mark

Lot Essay

A famille verte tapering vase with a very similar design dated to the Kangxi period, but with an apocryphal Jiajing mark, is illustrated in Kangxi Porcelain Wares from the Shanghai Museum Collection, Hong Kong, 1998, p. 152, no. 103.
