A LOUIS XV ORMOLU MANTEL CLOCK
The enamelled dial signed BUNON A PARIS with roman hours and arabic minutes, the silk suspension movement striking on a bell dated 1757 on the mainspring, the case surmounted by a putto in the guise of Mercury with a caduceus and bag of coins, flanked by a female with an anchor and speaking trumpet, and a negro putto in a feathered skirt holding a quiver of arrows, seated on a powder keg with a cannon and shot at his feet, the dial supported by rope and tied cotton bales; on a pierced flowerhead and guilloche plinth, 39 cm. (15 1/4 in.) high, 32 cm. (12 1/2 in.) wide, 14 cm. (5 1/2 in.) deep
