Lot Essay

Verschuur was a student of P. G. van Os and C. Steffelaar. He was awarded the Felix Meritis in 1831 and 1832. He became a member of the Amsterdam Academy , painting mainly equine rural scenes. Museums in Amsterdam, Haarlem, Chicago, Munster and the Municial museum in New York have conserved his works.
