THREE MAINLY WESTERN ASIATIC GOLD, CORNELIAN AND GLASS BEAD NECKLACES
CIRCA 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C., ROMAN AND LATER
One composed of eight graduated hollow gold biconical beads with cornelian disc and biconical spacers, with central Parthian granulated gold pendant with pyramidal cluster of gold spheres, pendant circa 2nd Century B.C./A.D.; another necklace with cornelian bi-pyramidal and spherical beads with disc-spacers, interspersed with three cornelian pendants and four electrum jar-shaped beads and two spherical gold beads, all with inner core; a mainly glass polychrome bead necklace including gold sandwich glass beads, blue ground beads with marved white spirals or feathering and double and triple conjoined beads, with some Islamic and later beads, all restrung, 23 to 15 in. (58.5 to 38 cm long); and a Sassanian garnet intaglio, engraved with a female bust, her head turned in profile, wearing a headdress and pendant earrings, her hair dressed in twisted locks, surrounded by a Pahlavi inscription, circa 4th Century A.D., repaired, ¾ in.
