Manuscript on polished cream paper, 253ff. with 12ll. of maghribi, vocalisation in red, blue and green, the word Allah in blue and red, sura headings in gold outlined in black, elaborate opening double-page illumination with sura al-fatiha and the first part of sura al-baqara in gold over blue and white ground, with panels of green and red with gold arabesque and marginal medallions, sura mariam with similar heading, pink inserts to protect illumination, note on final page in English, red morocco binding with flap and with gold stamped decoration, green velvet-covered leather pouch, fitted modern box - Folio 4½ x 4½in. (11.5 x 11.5cm.)
