A good late 19th-Century lacquered-brass gyroscope,
signed on the foot NEWTON & C.O, 3. FLEET S.T, LONDON, with various threaded clamps and mounts and iron stabilising rod, mounted on a pointed iron rod within a lacquered-brass column with screw clamp and a circular foot, together with a second pointed iron rod, a quantity of small lead shot in two brass canisters, each with a metal wire ring attached to the lid with a slim ribbon, and a cylindrical piece of mahogany with string attached, in a fitted pine carrying case with brass handle and a green Newton label in the door -- 26.6cm. (10½in.) high
