An 18th-Century French lacquered-brass sector with hinge and stay to hold arms open,
signed Langlois AParis aux Galleries du Louvre, calibrated for Les Cordes, Les Solides, Diametre et Poids des Boulets, Les Poligones, Les Plans and Calibre des Pieces, the hinge to hold the arms open at 90° graduated 45°-0-45° -- 18.1cm. (7 1/8in.) wide; a lacquered-brass folding rule hinged to form a set square by the same maker, graduated with a scale of Demi pied de Roy, lignes and pounces, with a cut-out for plumb-bob and line -- 17.5cm. (6 7/8in.) wide; and a lacquered-brass half-protractor by the same maker, graduated 0-180° in both directions (3)
