'xxx Mrs xx Jones - Licenced Hawker', a Grodnerthal painted wood pedlar doll
with grey eyes, tendrils of hair framing the face and jointed body in original brown glazed cotton and silk dress, apron and kerchief and purple silk bonnet, carrying a basket of wares including playing cards, a dolls, beads, pincushions, wool, a gimlet, stocking sand paper fan with Licenced Hawker ticket, late 1830s --8½in. (21cm.) high (yellow comb removed); and a small Grodnerthal doll (missing one and a half arms, worn) (2)
