London silver hallmarks for 1809
With browned twist barrel signed on the sighting flat, silver fore-sight and iron back-sight, gold-lined vent, engraved breech tang, signed bevelled lock engraved with bouquets and a quivver of arrows at the rear, fitted with roller, figured walnut full stock, pineapple chequered butt with aperture for a shoulder-stock now plugged by a monogrammed escutcheon, finely chased silver mounts, including trigger-guard of characteristic type cast in low relief and decorated en suite with the lock, horn fore-end cap, and later ramrod, silver maker's mark MB, a pellet between (the breech pitted, the cock associated, the pan lining removed, the stock with small repairs throughout)
