Upholstered in close-nailed creme leather, the underside of the stretcher stamped thrice LANNEAU, on castors

Lot Essay

Lanneau was located at 9, rue Saint-Ambroise, Paris and is registered at that address through 1880. He took part in the 1867 Exposition Universelle in Paris, exhibiting meubles de genre grec et chaises légères .

A similarly-designed fauteuil and chair were included in the Exposition Monographique, Edouard Lièvre, Créateur de meubles et objets d'art at the Galerie Roxane Rodriguez 16 September-16 October 2004, and are illustrated in the catalogue of exhibition pp. 44-45.
