YONGZHENG (1723-35)
Each enamelled in a typical palette at the centre with a roundel depicting two birds perched on blue pierced rockwork beside tree peony and a butterfly in flight, below a well and border very unusually decorated in 'oxblood'-red, turquoise and blue enamels heightened in gilt with a densely scrolling floral band in the well reserved with four gilt and red floral cartouches, and four stylised hibiscus sprays alternating with quatrefoil flowerheads at the border, each with a minor rim chip
