Lot Essay

This service was produced in the 1840s. It was designed for twelve and later expanded. The interlaced initials 'AM' belong to the heir to the thrown, Grand Duke Alexander Nicolaevich (Alexander II from 1855) and his wife Maria Alexandrovna.
