Lot Essay

Alexander II, the eldest son of Czar Nicholas I, was born in Moscow on the 17th of april 1818, and was enthroned on the 19th of february 1855, after the death of his father. He was crowned in the Dormition Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin on the 26th of august 1856.
