Cal. 4030 nickel-finished lever movement, 31 jewels, the black matte dial with applied luminous numerals, luminous hands, three subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours registers, in tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with baton-set sapphire bezel, screw back and screw down crown, two screw down chronograph buttons in the band, 18K gold Rolex deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed

Accompanied by Rolex Garantie et Attestation de Chronomètre Officiel dated January 1997, original fitted burgundy leather presentation box and outer packaging.

The "Ref. 16588 Safu" Cosmograph Daytona was introduced at the 1996 Basel Fair and produced in a very small series only. The standard model is fitted with a pavé-set diamond dial which was changed upon special request of the present owner against a black version without any precious stones.
