Lot Essay

The present watch is part of a series of boy size watches with most unusual case designs made by Rolex during the 1940s. These models were in production nearly as long as the "standard" versions but were made in much smaller quantities.

The present model is also known as "Life Saver", derived from its enlarged bezel and small dial opening resembling a swimming ring or life preserver.
