The "snake" wristwatch is one of Bulgari's most famous designs, created in the late 1940s. The first examples were made to resemble a serpent and fitted with a lifelike supple, flexible gold bracelet, the jewelled reptile's head concealing the watch.

As of the 1970s, the model became more stylized with plain flexible spiral bracelets without a snake's head or tail.

The particularity of the present watch is its rare white gold bracelet with the watch set into the middle part instead of, as more common, to the end of the bracelet.
