A MEISSEN TEABOWL AND SAUCER
CIRCA 1742, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS AND GILDER'S 15.
The teabowl exterior with two landscape vignettes within elongated ogival ombrierte cartouches with gilt scrolls, panels of diaper ornament and purple foliage scrolls, each divided by ombrierte insects and ombrierte Holzschnitt Blumen, the interior with another vignette within an iron-red double concentric circle cartouche below a border of gilt diaper panels and scrolls, the saucer with three figures by a cottage in a river landscape, one in a boat, within a similar cartouche and border, the underside with sprays of ombrierte Holzschnitt Blumen and insects, gilt line rims (saucer with very small chip to underside of rim, areas of slight wear to cartouche and scene at 11 and 5 o'clock)
