DATE CODE FOR 1877, IMPRESSED MARKS, PAINTED NUMERALS
Dark-blue ground, moulded to the exterior with four caricature busts of Punch wearing a blue and yellow jester's cap and white and black ruff, alternating with four seated hounds forming supports wearing plumed caps and ruffs issuing crossed feathered quills, below a shaped turquoise border moulded with circular yellow medallions, the interior enriched overall in pink (the bowl cracked and restored to the side, areas of restoration to moulded decoration)
