Engraved title in volume I incorporating the arms of Cardinal Alessandro Peretti, the dedicatee, his woodcut arms on titles of the other volumes (occasional light discolouration in volume II). Later 17th-century mottled calf, gilt spines, gilt arms on sides (rubbed, spines darkened). Provenance: Etienne Baluze, author and Colbert's librarian (signature at foot of titles); Cuthbert H. Turner (ownership inscriptions and book-label). Palau 4079.
