THE THIRD, MOST IMPORTANT EDITION OF ESTIENNE'S GREEK NEW TESTAMENT. Estienne collated 15 manuscripts, including the Codex Bezae for the first time, to produce this edition, and its influence lasted for more than two centuries. It is also the first edition to contain a critical apparatus, and it marks the first appearance of the third and largest "grecs du roi" type, accompanied here by the two smaller sizes of this special font. Adams B-1161; Darlow and Moule 4622; Mortimer, Harvard French, 78; Schreiber 105.
