The case overall decorated with chinoiserie scenes, the hood with glazed side panels and with blind fret frieze to its arch, the 12 in. wide brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with date aperture and subsidiary seconds ring, signed on an applied silvered plaque Step. Asselin LONDON, the arch with strike/silent ring, the eight day five pillar movement with anchor escapement, rack strike and trip repeat on bell, formerly with alarm, the lower section with arched hinged door decorated with figures amidst palatial scene with birds, the sides with stylised foliate sprays, on a stepped rectangular plinth, case associated to movement and dial
