1 page, folio, in bold fountain-pen ink on a printed telegraph form headed "Il Duce del Facismo Capo del Governo," in Italin.
MUSSOLINI TO HITLER
A telegram, penned in Il Duce's inimitable bold and hurried scrawl. Il Duce explains that he is sending his ambassador with an alternate plan for moving the Fascist government should it be threatened: "Führer, the ambassador...will communicate my proposal, in the event that we would have to choose another zone for the government of the Republic. After profound consideration of all the aspects of the situation it seems to me the best one. I beg you to let me know your agreement. Please have, Führer, altogether with my best comrade-like salute."
