Lot Essay

Rosei, a Chinese villager, moved away to try to better himself. Putting up at an inn he fell asleep with his head on a pillow left behind by a wizard. He dreamed that he became a courtier, a minister of state, the Emperor's son-in-law and finally the Emperor, but was awakened by a call that his millet was ready. Thinking philosophically that life is but a dream, he returned happily to his village.
