Two TSUBA
The first with signature Ichinomiya Echizen Daijo Ganshoshi Minamoto Nagatsune and kao, Edo period (19th century), the second unsigned, Edo Period (17th century)
The first an oval tsuba gilt overall and chiselled in katakiri with a court scene, the faces and other details in copper and shakudo hirazogan, the second a three plate iron tsuba, the outer plates of brass with a stamped design and bound with wire in the usual manner, with a brass rim

Lot Essay

The first tsuba depicts the Rokkasen, the six poetical geniuses of the ninth century, Ariwara no Narihira, Sojo Henjo, Ono no Komachi, Kisen-hoshi, Otomo no Kuronushi and Fumiya no Yasuhide.
