Sarah Kent comments on Frink's Running men, 'Accompanying the horsemen are a series of Running men - slim, naked, lithe and athletic - who run simply for the pleasure of exercising their muscles. In the full realisation of their physical strength, these spirits are wonderfully free - unlike the joggers who run along the main roads of the capital inhaling fumes, they have the idealized spaces of the mind in which to stretch their limbs' (op. cit, p. 67).
