Note
1. Yi Cong was the fifth son of the Daoguang emperor, and ascended to the house of Miankai (brother to Daoguang emperor) because Miankai had no heir. Yi Cong became Chen Junwang and was conferred the title Chun Qinwang (Prince Chun) during the Xianfeng era. For brief biography, see Zhongguo LidaiRenming Dacidian, Shanghai Giji Chubanshe, 1999, p.1763. 2. Although this album is not dated, it can be dated to 1860, when the Xianfeng emperor (1831-1861) was thirty and obviously the recipient of this album, since the Tongzhi emperor died aged nineteen, and Yi Cong himself was dead when the Guangxu emperor was thirty in 1905.
