Lot Essay

One hundred reproductions of Strutt and Wigston's original epicyclic skeleton clock were made by Dent between November 1973 and February 1974. Most were sold in the United States, for $3500 each. See Derek Roberts, British Skeleton Clocks, Antique Collectors' Club, 1987, p.169.
