The hood with outset turned columns, short trunk door with crossbanding and marquetry inlay, flanked by reeded angles, with panel below and to the plinth, the 14 in. wide painted dial with strawberry spandrels to Roman chapter ring, subsidiary seconds ring and arch date aperture, brass hands, with moonphase to the arch, false plate stamped W. FRANCIS/BIRMINGHAM to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 86 in. (219 cm.) high; two weights
