The hood with fretwork panel, inset giltwood-capped columns and glazed side panels, the trunk door with floral and figural marquetry and brass-bound lenticle, on plinth with floral marquetry panel, the 11¾ in. square brass dial with outer scored line, cherub and coronet spandrels to a silvered chapter ring with elaborate sword hilt half hour markers and cross half quarter markers, signed Jno. Hill King Street Covent Garden, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, ringed winding holes indications above for month with number of days and day of week with its symbol, date aperture with engraving around, the month-going movement with six ringed pillars, anchor escapement and outside countwheel (lacking) strike on bell -- 85¼ in.
