Lot Essay

According to te Velde ("Horus imi-schenut" in Lexikon der Ägyptologie, p. 47f), during the Old Kingdom, priests associated with Horus imi-schenut were physicians.

For a discussion of the unusual tabs projecting below the hem of the kilt see p. 15 and note 3 in Staehelin, "Untersuchungen zur ägyptischen Tracht im Alten Reich," in Münchner Ägyptologische Studien, Münchner Universitäts-Schriften, Philosophische Fakultät.
