AN ANATOLIAN BLACK-WARE POTTERY JAR
TROY I, CIRCA 3RD MILLENNIUM B.C.
The spherical body with two opposing horizontal lugs and two small knobbed projections, with a wide cylindrical neck and flaring mouth, perforated twice, on three conical legs, with incised decoration including a band with dots and chevron along the body and a "necklace" of circular pendants descending from a ring around the neck, the lid with a central conical knob and two perforations conforming with those on the mouth, incised with lozenges along the rim and a cruciform motif with chevrons along one axis
