by the State Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, blue hammer, sickle and cog mark, with monogram of Maria Alexandrovna Briantseva, dated 1922
The pipe bowl moulded with a happy and a mournful young woman's face within a floral scarf also forming the stem, the mouthpiece with black and gilt ciselé bands and a flower and foliage, after Natalya Danko's original model, marked in bowl
4 5/8 in. (12 cm.) long
Provenance
A gilt tag attached to the pipe is inscribed: 'To my dear Child a Friendly Souvenir from F. Chaliapin 1922 Camden'
