A parcel-gilt trompe l'oeil salt chair
marked in Cyrillic Sazikov, St. Petersburg, 1876
The tapering base of the chair forming four bracket feet and simulating wooden planks with gnarled banding, the hinged seat chased and engraved with a central star and bands of chevron pattern with similarly moulded rim, the back with circular panel, raised in the centre, with outer chevron border, openwork and pierced with holes, marked under base and seat rim
