Lot Essay

The bookcase was designed for the reconstruction and furnishing of the offices of the Essex and Suffolk Equitable Insurance Society at Capel House, New Broad Street, London between 1906 and 1910. The design scheme was shown at the Royal Academy in 1909 and was published in 'The Builder' on 30 October 1909.
