Designed as a twelve graduated oval-cut rubies, weighing from approximately 2.22 to 9.38 carats, each within an old mine-cut diamond surround, spaced by old mine and old European-cut diamond foliate links, mounted in silver and gold, circa 1880, 16 ins., with French assay marks
With report 33196 dated 2 March 1999 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the twelve rubies are of Burma (Myanmar) origin and show no indications of thermal enhancement

With report CS 35654-1 dated 27 July 2002 from the American Gemological Laboratories stating that based on available gemological information, it is the opinion of the Laboratory that the origin of three rubies weighing approximately 6.84, 8.33, and 9.38 carats would be classified as "Classic" Burma (Myanmar). No gemological evidence of heat enhancement present
