Oblong, the hinged cover with carved and gold heightened mother-of-pearl figures in an exotic landscape, applied to a plain mother-of-pearl ground, with a diamond, emerald and ruby set thumbpiece, the sides similarly decorated and with diamond set corners, the base with exotic birds and animals, the interior gilded, marked inside and on cover with incuse crown, eagle and rampant beast, further stamped '2826', the cover with French import marks
