The two painted leaves are applied onto the wings of the triptych. The upper register shows the Angel of the Annunciation on the left and the Virgin on the right. Below is the birth of the Virgin, and opposite, the Nativity of Christ. The lowest compartment, at the left, depicts the Three Hierarchs, and opposite, three other Saints. The kovchek shows the Old Testament Trinity. An icon of the Virgin of the Passion is encased in the central part of the triptych. - 25¼ x 17 7/8in. (64.25 x 45.25cm.) extended
