This collection comes from a noteworthy aficionado with a long standing love and knowledge of wine. Few wine lovers can claim the kind of intimate understanding that years of attentive tasting have provided this collector. From the bottle of 1931 Quinta do Noval enjoyed with Michael Broadbent to a magnum of 1947 Pétrus, this collector's biography of wine drinking is filled with the vinuous legends, as is his cellar. He spent forty years as a member of the International Wine and Food Society, earning the title "Sir Bacchus" as head of his Branch and the prestigious Andri Simon Silver Medal. The product of this study is his cellar. Today's offering is a selection of what remains. Highlights include '59, '61 and '82 Bordeaux, with four bottles of 1961 Pétrus and a focused offering of Rhône and Madeira in excellent condition.
