Lot Essay

This sword is prominent in key fight sequences throughout the film. Most notably when Sean Connery as the Spaniard Ramirez, instructs Christopher Lambert as MacLeod in the arts of the Immortals, and how to fight the evil Kurgan.

According to the accompanying document, this particular sword is believed to be the one seen throughout the film. It is an exact match to the sword in the film, and therefore varies from modern replicas which are inaccurate duplicates of the film sword. Perhaps even more surprisingly, it also varies from the U.S. artwork for the film's DVD release, which is again inaccurate, as apparently no genuine sword could be found at the time for reference purposes.
