Lot Essay

Mutoscope Reel Company celebrated the building of the Empire State Building in 1929 with this early model digger, which features a black and white photograph of the construction of the Empire State Building as the background art. A similar model was sold anonymously Christie's, South Kensington, 20 May, 2003.
