August Wilhelm Holmström (Helsinki, 2 October 1829 - St. Petersburg 1903). In 1857 he became a Master, acquired the workshop of goldsmith Hammarström, and then joined Gustav Fabergé as a principal jeweller. He remained Carl Fabergé's jeweller until he died in 1903. His son, Albert Holmström (1876-1925), then took over the workshop with Lauri Ryynanen. August Holmström was known for his fine work, including the Lilies-of-the-Valley Basket and the Miniature Replica of the Imperial Regalia, and his son for his creation of the Mosaic and Winter Eggs.
