A STAFFORDSHIRE SALTGLAZED STONEWARE BOWL
Circa 1760
Finely enamelled in the Chinese famille rose palette and style with the Hana Kago decoration of a basket suspended from bow-tied ribbons spilling long, curling boughs of flowering vine, continuing around to the reverse where two songbirds hover in flight over a single flower spray, the interior with a large peony blossom in the center within two iron-red bands, beneath a border around the rim of trellis and diaper pattern interrupted by small floral panels
